1 Day. Yerevan
Arrival in Yerevan – Meeting with a Russian-speaking attendant. Transfer to the selected hotel. Evening Yerevan is an overview program.
A guided tour of the city begins at 19:00 and includes the city center: the Opera and Ballet House, Swan Lake, Parliament, Lovers’ Park, Cascade, Yerevan Municipality, St. Gregory the Illuminator Church, University, Koltsovoy Boulevard, Republic Square with singing fountains.
Day 2. Yerevan – Echmiadzin – Zvartnots – Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. The trip to Etchmiadzin is the spiritual and administrative center of the Armenian Apostolic Church. Visiting of the Etchmiadzin Cathedral (4th century AD), the church of St. Hripsime (7th century AD), the church of St. Gayane (630), the ruins of the temple of Zvartnots (7th century AD) Return to Yerevan.
Day 3. Yerevan – Lake Sevan – Dilijan – Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. A trip to Lake Sevan – one of the largest high-mountain lakes in Eurasia, hiking to the top of the peninsula “Akhtamar”, exploring the Sevan Monastery (9th c.). A trip to the mountain resort of Dilijan – an inspection of the monastery complex Haghartsin (13th c.), Which includes the church of Surb Stepanos, Surb Mariam Astvatsatsin and the church of Gregory the Illuminator, as well as the famous refectory. Then visit the monastery of Goshavank (13th c). Return to Yerevan.
Day 4. Tour in Yerevan: Erebuni Museum, carpet making factory “Megeryan Karpet”, sightseeing tour, Ararat Brandy Factory, Matenadaran, Museum of Contemporary Art, Museums of M. Saryan, Kochar, Parajanov.
Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to the Museum of Erebuni (The fortress is on the hill Arin Berda, it was built in 782 BC by the Urartian king Argishti I.) Next trip to the carpet making factory “Megeryan Karpet” (has a large impressive exhibition hall where foreign guests, as well as local residents can make their purchases). Then we go to Matenadaran, a scientific research center under the government of the Republic of Armenia, which is one of the largest manuscript repositories in the world and the largest repository of ancient Armenian manuscripts. Further, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the museums of M. Saryan, Kochar, Parajanov. A sightseeing tour, a tour of the Ararat cognac factory (the most famous and successful brand of Armenian cognac in Armenia and all over the world).
Day 5. Yerevan – Garni – Geghard – Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to the unusual in beauty pagan temple of the Sun (1st century AD) in the village of Garni. Built in the Greek style with a characteristic colonnade from all sides. Travel to the rare temple of St. Geghard (12th – 13th centuries), translated in the rock, in the translation meaning “holy spear” in honor of the spear that was stored there for a long time, which was interrupted by the anguish of Christ on the cross (now it is in the St. Echmiadzin). Return to Yerevan.
Day 6. Yerevan – Khor Virap – Noravank – Areni wine factory – Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. A trip to the Ararat valley, a visit to the church of Khor Virap, places of imprisonment of St. Gregory the Illuminator. From here you can see a magnificent view of the biblical mountain Ararat, sparkling with its two peaks. Further our way lies along the picturesque gorge fringed by terracotta rocks, to the monastery of Noravank (13th century). Visit to Areni winery with wine tasting. Return to Yerevan.
