9 Day tour package in Armenia and Artsakh

Day 1.
Arrival, meeting at the airport, hotel accommodation

Day 2.
10:00 – Tsaghkadzor (Kecharis, Cableway), Dilijan (Goshavank, Haghartsin), Ijevan winery.

Tsaghkadzor city (“Valley of flowers”) is considered to be one of the most popular winter resorts of Armenia. It is one of the places of our mountainous country, where the beauty of the nature appears with its whole variety.

Kecharis monastery is in the north-western part of Tsakhkadzor. It was built in 11-13th centuries.

The fascination and the pearl of mountainous Armenia is Sevan Lake, which is one of the world’s greatest high altitude freshwater lakes. It is about 1900 m above sea level.

Dilijan entices people with its unforgettable beauty and mild climate. The city stretches on the banks of Aghstev river, surrounded with mountains and forests.

Day 3.
10:00 – Echmiadzin (Cathedral, Hripsime, Gayane), Zvartnots.

Cathedral of Echmiadzin.  The center of Armenian Apostolic church- St. Echmiadzin is located 20 km far from Yerevan. The Cathedral of Echmiadzin was founded at the beginning of the fourth century and is one of the oldest churches in the world.

St. Hripsime church is the one of the famous ecclesiastical buildings in the city of Echmiadzin. This is the developed and perfect example of cross-cupola churches in Armenia.

St. Gayane.  Not far from the Echmiadzin Cathedral against the background of white peaks of Ararat one can see the silhouette of the cupola of St. Gayane church. The church was built in the 7th century and belongs to the domed-basilica style.

Zvartnots. This marvelous temple is a result of skillfulness and brave creativity of Armenian architects of the 7th century. Having been built on several columns it could survive only till the 10th century.

Day 4.
09:00 – Haghpat, folk song, Sanahin, Odzun (church, mysterious memorial, national interactive dances), bakery Gntunik.

Day 5.
09:00 – Khor Virap, Noravank, Stepanakert (overnight in the hotel “Egnar”, “Armenia” or “Vallens Garden”)

Khor Virap is the most famous pilgrimage site in Armenia, as it is directly connected with the adoption of Christianity. As a state religion Christianity in Armenia was adopted in 301 due to endeavors of Saint Gregory the Illuminator, who before converting king Trdat the 3rd to Christianity, was imprisoned in the dungeon over which a church of Khor Virap monastery was built in the 17th century.

Noravank. Passing a narrow road surrounded by rocks of hundred caves one discovers a scene of harmony of architecture with nature.

Stepanakert is the capital city of Artsakh. It bears the name of great revolutioner Stepan Shaumyan. Stepanakert is constructed by the project of Alexander Tamanyan.

Day 6.

09:00 – Stepanakert Tour (History Museum, Market), Gandzasar, Tigranakert, Askeran Fortress, Stepanakert (overnight).

Gandzasar Among the monuments of Artsakh Gandzasar monastery has its significant and special place. It is considered one of the pearls of Armenian medieval architecture.
Tigranakert Besides Tigranakert which is the fifth capital city of historical Armenia and which was founded by king Tigran the Great, in Western Armenia, in historical Armenia and beyond its borders several other settlements bearing the name Tigranakert were established by Tigran the Great.
Day 7.

09:00 – Shushi (Gazanchetsots), Tatev – Cable car, Areni (winery), return to Yerevan.

Shoushi, the former capital city of Artsakh, is ten km far from Stepanakert. Shoushi is considered one of the oldest cultural and religious centers of Caucasus.

Tatev monastery. Among the architectural pillars of Zangezour the monastery of Tatev doesn’t have its rivals. This used to be wealthiest medieval monastery in Armenia.

Day 8.

10:00 – Garni, Geghard, baking lavash.

Garni temple which towers over a triangular cape, is the unique survived example of heathen culture in Armenia. It is a blend of Greco-Roman and Armenian styles.

Geghard monastery is the unsurpassable masterpiece of the 13th century Armenian architecture.

Day 9.
Transfer to the airport, departure.

Cost of the program for one person:
3-star hotel – 458 USD.
4-star hotel – 556 USD.
5-star hotel – 764 USD.

On request: the ticket price of the cable car is 4 USD for one station.

The price of the program includes:

● Hotel accommodation in Yerevan (6 nights);

● Hotel accommodation in Stepanakert during the tour to Artsakh (2 nights); ● Full board during the tour to Artsakh;
